Yes. Courses in this program are delivered one at a time over 10 weeks so you can continue to work in your current professional role.

Can I work while completing the online Master of Social Work program?

Yes, both the traditional program and the Advanced Standing program are flexibly designed so you can continue to work in your current professional role.

How many credit hours are required for the online Master of Social Work program?

The traditional program requires 60 credit hours and 900 field placement hours. The Advanced Standing program requires 30 credit hours and 450 field placement hours.

The EdD Leadership program is flexibly designed for working professionals and can be completed in 2 years. Courses are delivered one at a time. Each term is 8 weeks long, and students complete 10 courses in 10 terms.

Are the Master of Social Work classes 100% online?

Yes. Courses are delivered fully online. You will also be required to complete fieldwork hours.

Can I apply for the online Master of Social Work if I live outside of Kentucky?

How long will it take for me to complete the online Master of Social Work program?

The traditional online Master of Social Work program can be completed full-time in 16 months or part-time in 32 months. The Advanced Standing program can be completed full-time in 8 months or part-time in 16 months.

Can I apply for the online EdD Leadership if I live outside of Kentucky?

Are the EdD Leadership classes 100% online?

Yes. All 10 courses are delivered fully online, one class at a time, over a 10-week period.

How much do Spalding’s online programs cost?

Costs vary by program. The online EdD Leadership program is $825 per credit hour, for a total investment of $49,500 (plus any applicable fees).

The online Master of Social Work is $660 per credit hour. The traditional program is an investment of $39,600, and the Advanced Standing program costs $19,800.

Field placement provides hundreds of hours of real-world, hands-on generalist social work experience. Your Field Placement Coordinator helps identify quality placement sites within your local community so that you can focus on your coursework and the core competencies you need to succeed.

How does the field placement process work?

Your dedicated Spalding Field Placement Team collaborates with you to secure quality field placement sites that reflect your educational goals and desired practice specialty. They ensure all experiences meet CSWE accreditation standards, and the agencies and field instructors are approved prior to the start of your fieldwork.
